sory, kc910/i cannot be unlocked SAFELY unless the code is given by a service provider, if you have had t mob for a while you or any other service chip you are legally entitled to get a unlock code, so give tmob or another serice provider a ring and they should give you a code

you can however update the phone software / replace firmware version, this will remove the lock automatically, do wanna no how to do that?

ok, i will use tmobile as a example
basically your phone runs on a operating system, like a computer may run on windows xp or vista. but we call it firmware for phones.
when the os (operating system) is installed on the phone tmobile will brand it and there lock will be installed with the os. if you update your firmware, then basically it will overwirte the old firmware which means that the lock will be over written and gone!

but i cannot garuntee a succesfull update, but you can get OFFISHAL firmware from here and there may be some un offishal ones around on the internet.

Just tried to update my phone, the update worked fine but don't seem to have changed anything. must have been up to

This WILL work if the update you use is not by tmob or o2, if you go to to lg site for upgrades they will give u a option where you choose ur network provider which is the prob becuase upgrading will recreate a network lock, but if you go to sony ericsson they will give you a upgrade without a service provider envolved, which means you are upgrading the software without a network provider lock.

the way to do it for most lg phones is to use a firmware that is not given by lg. there are many around on the net.

sorry but as i said earlier new to this 3g bit apollo u lost me there why would i go to sony to get a firmware update for an lg?

i was just using sony as an example, by the way, what network is your viety on? if its on o2, there is a little glitch in system that lets you unlock for free. or try out the thread by manu4evr.

ok got ya (sitting red faced ) whats the glitch mine is on o2 if it involves using a comp i can't as i don't have access to one. very annoying when all the firms etc assume you do!

it works on most viewty phones but what happens is if you put the unlock number in it will come up with a unlock screen from where you choose what lock you would like to remove, if you press sim unlock it will ask for a code, but some o2 phones have automatically unlocked before you enter the code it asks for. this sometimes works when the sim is removed and code is typed in.

it may work on other networks, or only o2 or only some phones i dont no, but it worked for me:

1) remove sim
2) turn on phone and key in 2945#*990#
3) in the menu select sim unlock
4) select network lock

then exit and restart.

no doesn't work on mine without sim wont even let me enter menu code with sim just says unavailable doesn't even ask for unlock code or anything!! oh well
