What is the difference between offset printing and digital printing?

Post by Guest on Fri Oct 21, 2011 12:31 am

Offset printing is printing from a set of negatives (4 films needed for color and only 1 needed for black /white/grey) and then, burnt onto plates and printed all four at the same time. Colors are layered to form one image.
Nowadays, the technology is DTP which means Direct-to-Plate and no more films needed. Use insert the image and the computer outputs directly to the printer which saves cost, is more efficient, and faster.
